Okay, ladies.  The common craving this fall is the need for tweed!  Tweed is tailored and classic– and it’s back.  If you’re fortunate enough to break out your mom’s vintage coat, go right ahead (and I envy you!).  For those not so fortunate, I’m listing some great options below that will cover you in chunky tweed delight.  For example, an investment tweed jacket or pencil skirt is timeless.  I’m currently wearing this bell-bottom long-sleeve Zara dress paired with these fringe friendly Matiko sandals and a floppy brim fedora hat from Nordstrom.  Voilà.

And remember, you don’t have to wear a top to bottom tweed look.  You can accessorize with a tweed clutch, jacket or a great pair of tweed pants.  Check out some great options below.

Balenciaga Classic Moto Jacket here

Hi friends!  So, this Fall weather has me chatting about my absolute favorite piece of clothing to wear– the jacket.  I’ll find any excuse to purchase a great, nicely tailored jacket.  From full-length trench coats, to cozy wool and quilted coats, to parkas and peacoats… I love them all.  But when it comes to a great leather jacket, my heart skips a beat.  If you’re in the hunt for the perfect moto leather jacket, look no further.  The second I set my eyes on this Balenciaga beauty, I knew I needed it in my life.  If there’s absolutely one great leather jacket you should own, I suggest Balenciaga.  The buttery leather, the bold design, the detailed elbow stitching, the extreme comfort– it’s the total package.  This number is definitely one investment piece that I can’t get enough of!

Below are a few other leather jackets that I found were very strong candidates, and with much friendlier price points!

Happy October, friends!  October is by far my favorite month of the year… The cooler weather, the Fall fashion making an appearance, the pumpkin-spice everything.  Yep, I’m one of those.  And don’t get me started with the Houstonians pulling out the coats and boots when the temps drop to the 80s (totally guilty on that too).

Today I’m sharing this olive green dress from Nordstrom.  Perfect for the warmer days we’re still having in Houston, yet light enough to layer up.  Olive is the ideal neutral this Fall, and nothing puts me in the mood for autumn quite like this shade of green.  This earthy neutral works awesome with splashes of cream, gold, a hit of a bright color or funky pattern… Your options are endless.  Happy shopping!  x

Hi friends, Happy Monday!  Hoping everyone had a great weekend!  It was the first weekend I’ve been in town in almost a month!  After a wedding on Friday and dinner with friends Saturday, Sunday was completely booked up with a long list of things to catch up on.

Now, about my look.  This Fall, olive and marsala are big hits.  However, we must not forget the fur vest.  You’ll also see that I incorporated a little fringe and suede because you cannot go wrong with either this season.  Now, back to vests.  I’m a firm believer in investing in a good fur vest (lots of great faux ones out there- see below!) this Fall.   It’s a great statement piece that’s so versatile, not to mention a wonderful layering piece.  Here, I’m wearing it over this olive green suede long-sleeved dress with lace accents from Zara.  I’m in love with this color– I feel that it compliments all skin-tones and is best worn during the Fall.  Paired with my Kristin Cavallari open-toe booties, this look gives the perfect combo of femininity meets edge.  Don’t forget to check out my top faux fur friendly options below.  xx

hats!Okay… those close to me know that I have a serious hat problem. And, hey, I admit it… I kind of do. Which makes this post dear to me– I want to introduce you to my friends. Hat friends, that is. I categorize hats into 3 sections: The occasion hat, the trendy hat and the investment hat. For the occasion hat, (think Kentucky Derby) my go-to places are Macy’s and Dillards.  You’ll find a huge selection in these department stores, with the majority reasonably priced.  For my trendy hats, I absolutely love Nordstrom, Free People, H&M and Madewell.  I promise you, one of these stores will have whatever style you’re looking for!  And a’las, the hat you invest in.  My absolute favorite brands are Goorin Bros. and Rag & Bone.  The price is higher, but so is the quality.  And there you have it.  Below are a few options I’m currently crushing on!  What is your favorite hat brand?

Ah… September.  That much closer to sweater weather.  If you live in Texas you’ll soon realize that sweater weather is but a mere dream.  Needless to say, I am a layered look kind of gal so I’m literally counting down the days ’til cooler weather.  In the meantime, I’m doing a little Pre-Fall celebration in this ruby red Zara dress.  How cool is the metallic appliqué in the center?  No necklace needed in this baby!  I paired it with some amazing boho-chic Free People fringe sandals.  Outfit complete.  Did someone say sweater weather?
